Summary
The Coordinator of Data Utilization is responsible for supporting District and school activities related to the Georgia Department of Education state accountability framework, particularly, the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). Key responsibilities also include fulfillment of complex data requests requiring the use of a statistical programming language, such as R or Python; and management of large scale, multi-tiered data projects, such as the Georgia Milestones preliminary results reporting.
Essential Duties
- Cleans and manipulates data, merges data files, prepares data loads, and documents processes to support performance reporting
- Organizes, analyzes and interprets test results and other measurements of student progress
- Creates dashboards, charts, graphs and summaries of data using data visualization and presentation tools
- Provides data to Executive Leadership to support the District Strategic Plan and Balanced Scorecard
- Advises and assists departments/schools with data analysis related to student performance and assists in identifying, gathering, and interpreting data for decision making
- Provides project management and oversight for large-scale department data projects
- Completes ad hoc requests from Executive Leadership as required
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Minimum 4 years of experience working with large data sets and/or experience in areas related to data analysis and presentation, preferably in an educational environment (In lieu of experience, Master’s Degree or higher plus two years of related experience may be considered); Experience with SQL and R or Python preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods
- Ability to manage conflicting high-priority projects
- Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
- Proficient in a statistical programming language (e.g. Stata, R, Python), required
- Ability to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and other reports using Microsoft PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
