Overview:

Responsible for the operational management of multiple deposit product lines and services within the consumer bank.  Ensures product/services are marketable, profitable, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate and manage internal and external complaints and share observed trends for team to gain understanding of issues that should be addressed by the team and their work.

• Understand and manage product risk.  Ensure product complies with all legal and/or regulatory requirements, including PREs, Findings and corresponding Remediations. 

• Manage operational and process components of new product implementation and existing product modification to include but not limited to the design and development of services.

• Partner with Legal, Compliance and First Line Risk to address regulatory concerns and work to develop and implement remediations plans.

• Performs reporting and analysis relating to the product portfolio and operational tasks.

• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

• 3 years’ proven marketing, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, or desire to learn (formulas, VLookups, PivotTables, etc.)

• Prior branch/retail banking experience

• Working knowledge of retail deposit products, such as checking and savings accounts, CDs, IRAs, etc.

• Prior experience building and deepening professional relationships with key business partners

• Experience working with Hogan/TPX, AKM, or Dash

• Product operations, risk, regulatory compliance, etc.

Working Model/Location:

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays). Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to 345 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
