About the role
Meet Anagenex.
At Anagenex, we combine machine learning with massively parallel biochemical tools such as DNA Encoded Libraries (DELs) and Affinity Selected Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) to analyze more compounds more efficiently than ever before. By working with large datasets throughout our search process and letting our machine learning model guide our experiments, we are able to find molecules for the hardest problems in drug discovery, bringing first in class and best in class treatments to patients.
As a fully integrated team of experts in biology, chemistry and machine learning, we work as one to find new medicines. Collaborating across these divergent disciplines gives team members exposure and understanding into differing approaches for solving complex challenges. Autonomy and trust ground our flexible working environment, enabling us to succeed against a broad range of targets in drug discovery.
Introducing: Research Associate
Anagenex seeks a Research Associate to join our growing team.
Anagenex is an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and equitable workplace. We recognize diversity is a strength and value the differing voices, backgrounds, and perspectives on our team. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
Anagenex is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities in our job application procedures. If you need assistance or accommodation due to a disability, you may contact us at hiring@anagenex.com.

Introducing: Research Associate
Anagenex seeks a Research Associate to join our growing team.
Duties:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses in a laboratory setting to develop new pharmaceutical products.
- Validate large sets of building blocks (BBs) in DNA compatible reactions.
- Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of proprietary DNA Encoded Libraries (DELs).
- Evaluate reactions and reagents for on-DNA, aqueous synthesis, with the aim of developing new DELs. Source and validate large sets of building blocks for DEL synthesis.
- Apply combinatorial techniques to chemistry development (plate based parallel synthesis and split-and-pool synthesis).
- Use liquid handlers to increase throughput.
- Develop, improve, and customize pharmaceutical products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
- Maintain detailed electronic lab records.
- Explore and deploy novel technologies to accelerate development.
- Serve as a member of the expanding DNA Encoded Library Chemistry team, collaborating extensively with other Anagenex scientists and externally with private industry partners to conduct interdisciplinary analyses of research projects and interpret test results.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Chemistry or a related field,
- plus one (1) year of chemist, researcher or related experience synthesizing nucleic acids via various synthetic pathways;
- performing and analyzing chromatographic purification;
- applying combinatorial chemistry techniques such as parallel synthesis;
- utilizing analytical methods and techniques including LCMS and HPLC purification;
- developing SOPs for new research processes and operations;
- maintaining detailed electronic lab records;
- interpreting experimental test results.
