Maintenance Worker

New York Water Tours is seeking skilled maintenance workers to help with the upkeep of our 7 passenger vessels. Vessels range from 90’ - 120' with multiple decks. Job seekers should be mechanically inclined, neat, and organized. All applicants must have at least 1 year doing general maintenance - painting, cleaning, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, loading/ unloading, ect.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment, furniture, supplies to and from vessel as well as around the vessel
• Basic carpentry experience and knowledge
• Aid in vessel renovation
• Proper use of power and hand tools
• Painting with rollers and brushes
• General vessel upkeep
• Attention to rust prevention
• Finish work
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Care and maintenance of carpets
• Care and maintenance of outer decks
• Care and maintenance of all interior trim and finishings
• Assist engineer when required

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be willing to report to multiple locations - including shipyards
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 50 lbs over head
• Must be a self starter with the ability to work independently

Compensation

• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
