The Work You Will Do:

This position serves as a Consolidated Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist/ Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) and is responsible for assisting with the development of the service delivery strategies for veterans and educating partner staff with current employment initiatives and programs for veterans. This position will also provide outreach and facilitate placements to meet the employment needs of eligible veterans and eligible spouses entitled to benefits, in accordance with priorities as determined by the Federal Department of Labor. This position confers with Management to assist in identifying improvement processes and develops and implements solutions for the Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.

 

THIS IS A VETERAN-FUNDED POSITION.  Appointment to this position must be made in the order of preference provided by Public Law 100-323. Applicants claiming veteran preference must provide a copy of their DD-214 and when claiming disabled veteran preference must also provide a copy of their statement of disability from the Veteran's Administration.  Applicants applying must ensure that required military documents are submitted either in the PeopleFirst application prior to the closure of the job announcement or with the application.

The incumbent will assure the local office is compliant with Federal Regulations, standards of performance, and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans. You will assist in helping Broward County Veterans and eligible spouses obtain wages to be sufficient and sustainable through training and employment. The LVER Government Operations Consultant II is a member of the Florida Commerce team with CareerSource Broward.
