About Betterment

Betterment is a leading, technology-driven financial services company that offers investing and retirement solutions for retail investors and investment advisors as well as financial wellness solutions, including a 401(k) for small and medium-sized businesses. Our team is passionate about our mission: making people’s lives better. We’re headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (three days/ week in-office).

About the role

Betterment is hiring a Sr. Social Media Manager to spearhead our strategy and expand our organic reach through innovative content and social campaigns.

Are you an avid consumer of FinTok? Do you track interest rates like they're box office numbers? Do you explain inflation to friends at parties and keep up with market trends the way others keep up with celebrity drama?

Betterment, the pioneer in automated investing, is seeking a social media innovator. If you love building and scaling platforms, optimizing performance through metrics, and crafting content  that’s as compliant as it is clever, we want you.

We are searching for an experienced, social-savvy pro to plan, develop and publish creative campaigns that help our audience(s) navigate current financial topics and the Betterment product and brand. By leveraging data-driven insights and innovative storytelling, your content increases engagement, grows brand awareness, and ultimately brand loyalty. In addition to the core consumer business, you will also oversee the social accounts for our rapidly growing B2B businesses, producing content that connects with finance and HR professionals. This position reports into the Brand Creative team, and works closely with design, editorial, content, video, product marketing, and subject matter experts across the organization.

This role is based out of our NYC office. Below, we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and interview performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.

  • New York City: $110,000 - $138,000

We offer a competitive equity package, health, dental and vision benefits, and a 401(k) offering with employer match as well as flexible PTO policy. This job is eligible for variable compensation in the form of a discretionary company incentive bonus.  For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.

  • Own the project management pipeline for social: including scheduling, ideation, creative briefing, reviews/approvals, and compliance recordkeeping.
