PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Oversees the daily operations of the front reception area
- Maintain neat and organized workstations, inventory control of office supplies
- Operate telephone system, route calls, convey messages and provide information to callers as appropriate and as authorized
- Greet and direct visitors, update Excel visitor log
- Delegates other duties to off shift and weekend receptionist as appropriate
- Identify areas of improvement in the communications department and, participate in the problem solving and implementation of action plan
- Complies with all hospital safety and health regulations including emergency management procedure and annual safety re-orientation
- Treats patients, their families, visitors and other staff members with respect, courtesy and compassion
- Assist with providing coverage for receptionist staff on an as needed basis, assuring seven day per week and holiday coverage
PREREQUISITES:
- Ability to communicate in an efficient and pleasant manner
- Must be able to maintain composure under extremely busy circumstances
- Basic computer skills
- Previous receptionist experience preferred
