The Institutional Markets Business Finance Officer is part of Global Atlantic’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in New York. The person in this position will act as a strategic partner to our rapidly growing Institutional Markets business, including block reinsurance, pension risk transfer, flow reinsurance, and Bermuda sidecars, to help develop and implement strategies to maximize risk-adjusted returns. The role also coordinates the analysis of actual and forecast earnings, capital and other KPIs to help drive data-driven decision-making.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Strategic partner to President and valued member of the Institutional Markets Leadership team
• Regular reporting of financial metrics, including attribution of under / out performance
• Helping to identify opportunities to grow earnings, increase efficiency, and optimize capital
• Acts as the voice of Finance for the Institutional Markets organization, driving key priorities and helping to operationalize routine reporting and analyses
• Coordinates with broader finance, actuarial and risk teams to help onboard new transactions and monitor financial performance of existing business
• Coordinates the development of key assumptions and business narrative for planning and budgeting
• Lead the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc presentations to senior management, including the Board of Directors, around financial performance of business drivers and key metrics
• Collaborates with our Bermuda finance and actuarial teams to support financial reporting and other needs associated with internal and third-party reinsurance transactions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field; MBA preferred
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, including reinsurance, insurance, financial services, M&A, and valuation/financial reporting
• Actuarial training/experience is a plus
• Executive presence with thoughtful, articulate communication style adaptable to the audience
• Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to review detailed financial information and elevate to C-suite level narrative
• Effective influencer and thought leader to help drive key business decisions and initiatives by partnering closely across teams and functions
• High energy with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
• Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills

Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range.
