Job Summary The Advancement Officer for Online Donors is responsible for the management of online donor relationships. This position will seek to build awareness and cultivate relationships with donors primarily acquired from online content produced by DTS. The Advancement Officer will follow a highly relational mass communication model of donor development and fundraising to identify donor prospects, grow relationships with online donors, solicit support, and elevate gift levels. As individual donors demonstrate increased interest and/or capacity, they will be qualified and transitioned to Mid-Level or Major Gift Advancement Officers as appropriate. This position reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and will be assisted by the Advancement Administrator and Director of Free Online Education. Duties/Responsibilities Advancement Officer for Online Donors- Develop relationships with online donors ($1 - $999 gift range) in mass and grow their affinity to DTS using established mass communication and donor protocols (i.e., social media, emails, notes, online engagement events, etc.).
- Qualify prospects and current donors who self-identify by taking an online course or making their first gift to the seminary.
- Solicit gifts for the free online course initiative and build relationships for future gifts.
- Work with the online fundraising consultants to identify opportunities for mass communication with online donors.
- Advance current donors from the Free Online Courses to become mid-level or recurring donors through cultivating their interest and excitement about DTS. Form as many relationships with them as possible.
- Identify and cultivate donors who will commit to a multi-year plan of support identified as Impact Partners.
- Track Online giving and regularly report on gift commitments.
- Serve as producer for online communication videos to be used for donor awareness and cultivation.
- Manage relationship with online fundraising consultants
- Utilize database to track and update donor cultivation activities, solicitation, and gifts.
- Research donor giving capacity using Boodle, Wealth Engine, or other appropriate metrics to determine probable affinity with the DTS mission and giving capacity.
- Actively identify donors who have affinity with the mission and unutilized giving capacity for further cultivation by Mid-level or Major Gift Officers.
- Become familiar with statistics made available through analytics from Hubspot and other online platforms to note donor affinity and prospect qualifications
- Become an expert in DTS’s database software in order to know how to utilize these tools for further cultivation of online donors
- Maintenance of viable relationships with new and existing online donors.
- Increase in number of online donors, number of online gifts, and gift income.
- Direction of successful online awareness and cultivation events.
- Elevation of online donors to mid-level or major donor capacity.
