Within Cruise, this Senior Software Engineer II will slot into our Customer Support Platform team, which builds tools that provide any assistance that our riders may seek. These tools anticipate and solve challenges in ways that humanize our technology, enhance the safety of our services, and deepen our relationships with users, even in the most unpredictable moments.

What You’ll Do

• Mentor junior engineers and help lead projects

• Drive strong engineering practices and a high bar of quality for our product offerings

• Work with teams across Cruise to foster a collaborative culture embodying our values

What You Must Have

• 8+ years of professional experience building and shipping critically important production-level full stack applications

• Experience building modern front-ends using React, Webpack, Babel, or similar tools

• Experience building scalable backend APIs using Node.js, Go, or similar languages

• Experience with relational databases, microservice-based architectures, and common cloud platforms like AWS/GCP/Azure

• Experience being a Technical Lead of small teams in fast-paced software engineering organization

• Track record of driving complex Software projects from start to completion, including conception, problem definition, experimentation, iteration, and finally publication or productization

Bonus points!

• Experience in telephony/synchronous communication related technology

• Experience in the autonomous vehicle or rideshare industry

 

The salary range for this position is $146,300 - 215,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
