Farm Mechanic Internship

Hall Farms, is seeking a motivated Farm Mechanic Intern to join our team. We have shops located in Osgood, Pingree and Pocatello. Most of the work will be concentrated in Pingree, Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in an accredited diesel mechanic program to gain hands-on experience in agricultural equipment maintenance and repair. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced mechanics, assisting in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing farm machinery, including tractors, combines, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of farm machinery and diesel-powered equipment.
• Perform routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues under supervision.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot engine and system malfunctions.
• Assist with welding, fabricating, and modifying equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following company safety protocols.
• Document work performed and report findings to senior mechanics or the farm manager.
• Learn and apply best practices for equipment efficiency and longevity.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited diesel mechanic program or related field.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor farm environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
