About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Track Maintenance Supervisor Level 2 to join our Regional Assets team located at our Richmond depot on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role you will effectively manage the allocation and deployment of resources including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely track maintenance on behalf of Network.
Duties include:
- Ensure road patrols and other track monitoring activities are conducted as required
- Efficiently manage workgroup resources and activities to meet defined work programs
- Conduct audits of completed work, coordinate emergency responses, and implement, adjust, remove, review, and report on speed restrictions as required
- Oversee training, development, performance management, succession planning and the Civil Infrastructure Competency System for direct reports
- Actively promote safe work practices by implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
About you
You will be responsible for a team of Trackworkers, requiring strong relationship-building and communication skills to effectively lead your team and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
What you’ll bring:
- Must have Cat 3 driver and road patrol qualifications
- Must have track protection qualifications
- Substantial knowledge of track construction, maintenance and inspection standards, systems, processes and associated costs
- Substantial level of skill in prioritising, planning, programming and resource management of track maintenance activities
- Substantial leadership, communication, people management, industrial relations and negotiation skills
- Sound level of skill in the management of assets allocated to the position including inventory, plant, equipment, motor vehicles and building assets
