Job Description
The position holder is responsible for the operations equipment engineering for Single Use Endoscopes (SUE) products.
The engineer develops and improves equipment requirements, designs, and specifications inclusive of mechanical, electrical hardware, and control systems as needed according to product and process requirements which have overall equipment effectiveness that enables efficient and effective manufacturing.
Job Duties
- Own the full cycle of equipment development activities including requirements, equipment specifications, hardware and software design, build, debugging, acceptance and qualification, and support using a combination of internal and external resources.
- Ensure robust, accurate, and complete documentation supporting elements of the development and build process.
- Develop and deliver project status reports, proactively identifying, resolving, and presenting any issues that may impact the team’s ability to meet key goals
- Responsible for the development and validation of capable production processes that meet operational objectives.
- Evaluate the manufacturing processes in partnership with industrial and manufacturing engineering to ensure processes and equipment are safe and ergonomically acceptable.
- Evaluate the manufacturing processes in partnership with industrial and manufacturing engineering to identify the optimal equipment solution for each process with the correct level of reliability, precision, automation, and control in accordance with process and product risk profiles, manufacturing requirements, and cost elements.
- All Other Essential Duties as directed.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Exceptions to the criteria may be allowed for candidates that meet combinations of criteria or have additional exceptional skill sets.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with BS of industry experience with a proven track record of successful product development within a regulated product development environment, or minimum of 4 years' experience with MS or MBA or 2 years with PhD.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting bringing new equipment from conception through and beyond.
- Expertise with the development of complex and precision mechanical or opto-mechanical test equipment.
- Experience in test method and equipment qualification.
- Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Travel up to 25% mostly Domestic.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated ability of delivering effective and reliable equipment from an overall equipment effectiveness perspective.
- Strong documentation abilities to clearly and thoroughly document requirements, specifications, and test protocols.
- Strong engineering problem solving capabilities. Ability to systematically diagnose problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of core engineering tools. For example: Mechanical design, electrical schematics, OEE, Risk Analysis, process mapping, programming and logic.
