MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Operations Manager to join our team in Fayetteville, NC.
In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by modernizing the IT environment, integrating advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for data analytics, and providing enterprise persistent services like chat, video, and data mapping through various engineering and cybersecurity initiatives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Planning, directing, or coordinating activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
Directing the daily activities of the Cyber Operations Team, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat hunting.
Ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, DoD 8500-series) and advising senior leadership on evolving threat landscapes
Collaborating with system owners, mission stakeholders, and other IT teams to ensure proper security controls are in place across infrastructure
Managing personnel, resources, and the operational tempo of the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure the effective execution of Cybersecurity requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field with a minimum of 9+ years position specific, relevant experience
4+ years of position-specific relevant experience managing cybersecurity teams or a Security Operations Center (SOC).
Proven ability to manage cyber programs in DoD, IC, or similarly complex environments
Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
Strong working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53 controls, and applicable security compliance mandates
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Experience managing a 24x7 SOC or cyber defense op
