🌍 Refugee Services Operations Manager – Lead with Purpose, Drive Impact

Are you a skilled operations leader with a heart for humanitarian work? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where your leadership directly improves lives? We’re seeking a full-time Refugee Services Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our refugee services program, working out of our Detroit Offices / remote, established home office. This is a mission-critical role for someone who can combine strategic thinking, regulatory expertise, and compassionate leadership to support displaced individuals and families.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

  • Lead Operations: Provide day-to-day leadership to office staff and support the program director with administrative tasks.
  • Build and Develop Teams: Take the lead on hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management to foster a high-performing, mission-driven team.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of COA standards, state licensing, contract regulations, and organizational policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Manage Budgets: Assist in developing annual budgets, conduct monthly forecasting, and monitor budget vs. actual performance.
  • Oversee Facilities and Records: Supervise clerical staff, manage building operations, and maintain personnel and medical files in accordance with agency and legal standards.
  • Collaborate and Represent: Partner with community organizations, councils, and professional groups to advance service objectives and represent the organization.
  • Innovate and Expand: Contribute to the development of new programs and services aligned with the organization’s mission.

🎓 What You Bring

  • Education: Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of office experience and proven success in a supervisory role.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication in English.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
    • Knowledge of program development, administration, and staff supervision.
    • High integrity, flexibility, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Requirements:
    • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
    • Proof of current vehicle registration and insurance.

This position has a salary of $70,000. Comprehensive benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment

  • Maintain current knowledge of, and assure operations meet all regulatory and quality assurance standards including but not limited to Council of Accreditation (COA), state licensing and contract regulations governing the assigned programs, local ordinances, client rights, and organization policy and procedure.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets for assigned programs. Complete monthly forecasting and budget vs actual reporting.
  • Provide leadership to staff. Partner with Human Resources in staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, onboarding, training and development, coaching and counseling and performance management. Ensure delegation of responsibility, authority, and accountability. Participate and/or lead meetings.
  • Supervise clerical staff and take the lead on building management.
  • Create and maintain personnel and medical only files for each employee,
