We are looking for an Accountant to join our team!
Location: Head Office, Edmonton, Canada (Hybrid)
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting package for the corporate team
- Help drive timely completion of monthly reporting results
- Prepare assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including updates to Floqast .
- Prepare a variety of ad-hoc reports including comparing the financial results to budget to support monthly variance analysis
- Play a crucial role in calculating, reconciling and tracking SaaS revenue and percentage of completion revenue recognition, monthly.
- Coordinate and assist with external auditors for interim and annual financial audit.
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and procedure documentation and advising where improvements can be made
- Assist with the customer billing process and revenue reconciliation
- Monitor customer accounts for non–payments or delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Prepare various federal and US state reporting and filings as per regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Professional accounting designation such CPA program
- 3-5 years’ industry experience with mid-sized organization
- Experience working with Oracle NetSuite ERP is preferred
- Moderate to advance excel sheet working skills
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate across functional boundaries and organizational levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with little oversight
