About the role

Proposed Schedule: 40 hours per week. Shifts will vary based on the operating hours and needs of the Health Center.

 

The Women’s Health Service Line Leader is responsible for leading and managing Women’s Health and Ultrasound Imaging services for multiple locations within the Network. This includes oversight of operations, daily workflows, staff and patient scheduling to ensure safe, high-quality care, optimized access, and patient satisfaction. The Women’s Health Service Line Leader will identify, assess, and mitigate operational and clinical risks that may impact patient safety, continuity of care, data integrity, or access to services. The Women’s Health Service Line Leader works with Medical and Operational leaders to meet budget and financial performance across all locations.  The Leader also partners with compliance and human resources to ensure adherence to all state and federal healthcare regulations and employment laws. The Leader supports the Network’s mission, vision, and core values through providing exceptional service, efficiencies, and meeting high-quality standards and works alongside leadership on strategic planning and execution.

The Women’s Health Service Line Leader directly oversees the Patient Services Leader, Nurse Leader, and Ultrasound Lead while working closely with the Operations and Medical Leaders on day-to-day problem solving, co-management of operational performance and implementation of strategic and value-based care objectives.  Strong collaboration with leaders across the organization is essential to make data driven decisions that proactively address patient safety risks, drive quality improvement and maintain equitable access.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Directs Women’s Health services and ultrasound services to align with metrics that include quality, efficiencies and promote a patient centric culture. 
  • Oversees services that are performed in compliance with HRSA Health Center Program and FTCA coverage requirements, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Article 28 standards, and applicable federal and state laws, while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, continuity of care, information integrity, and equitable patient access.
  • Creates performance metrics within the team; continually evaluates against the benchmark to enhance performance.
  • Collaborates with Medical and Operational leaders to meet budgetary and financial performance expectations across all locations while ensuring that risk management, regulatory compliance, and patient safety considerations are integrated into operational decision‑making.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight and direction to the team, setting priorities and developing skills for empowered decision making. 
  • Hires and retains talent committed to core values; ensures the values are upheld and holds team members accountable through recognition, performance reviews and coaching sessions; cultivates high performing and engaged teams.
  • Maintains regular communication with providers and staff; monitors workflows related to scheduling, referrals, results management, and communication to reduce risk of delayed care, lost information, missed goals, or incomplete follow‑up.
  • Proactively monitor encounters, patient access and service needs while safeguarding the safety, compliance, operational integrity and continuity within the health center.
  • Assures health center operations, minimizing service disruption and staffing strain, in alignment with FTCA risk management principles, scope‑of‑practice requirements, and Health Center Program obligations.
  • Identifies, monitors, and mitigates risks related to women’s health, hospital coverage and ultrasound services, including patient safety events, near misses, and workflow gaps; partner with compliance and human resources teams on corrective action plans.
  • Together with the Medical Leader, promote a culture of patient safety by ensuring staff adherence to policy, clinical guidelines, protocols, equipment standards, and infection prevention practices.
  • Proactively assesses patient access risks, including appointment availability, staffing coverage (during and after hours), hours of operation, geographic equity, and coordination across locations. Implement strategies that reduce barriers to timely care.
  • Works with the compliance, finance, human resources, marketing, and strategy and planning teams to determine considerations related to services in compliance with state, federal, and regulations, thoroughly assessing availability for access. 
  • Partners with operational, population health, and pediatric service leaders to ensure safe transitions of care and continuity of services across the patient lifecycle.
