As a Pharmacy Technician III you will:
• Perform advanced duties and responsibilities, reflecting the additional knowledge and experience they have earned and demonstrated. This may include oversight and execution (with pharmacist supervision) of specific operations such as Sterile Compounding; Automation, Technology and Information Systems; Controlled Substances Dispensing and Diversion Prevention; Medication History capture and documentation.
• Be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of, and applying applicable regulatory and practice standards, generating reports, communicate and interact with other professionals and disciplines, maintaining vendor relationships, etc.
• Be able to perform all duties in Pharmacy Tech I and Pharmacy Tech II positions.
• Serve as mentor and trainer to those in the Pharmacy Technician I and II roles.

Qualifications include:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Required: At least 3 years experience in a hospital setting, with automated distribution systems, decentralized pharmacy services, and sterile compounding. Working knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800.
Preferred: Specific advanced experience with area appropriate to role responsibilities (ie – Medication History, Sterile Compounding, etc)
Preferred: Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels.
Required: Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Preferred: PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv); or PTCB Certificate in appropriate focus (ie - Medication History, Sterile Compounding, etc)

Work Schedule:

Medication History Technician working 40 hours per week, rotating days and evening shifts with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Pay Range:

$23.25 - $32.55

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

United States of America (Non-Exempt)
