The Commercial Procurement Business Partner will manage an annual spend of approximately $200M in categories including marketing, creative and media agencies, payer and market access, sales services, market research, competitive intelligence, data licenses and analytics, and commercial operations. This role involves category management, sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement on a global scale. The successful candidate will develop first-time sourcing strategies in countries and markets throughout the world, focusing on Marketing, Sales, and Commercial Operations services. This position combines strategic sourcing and tactical negotiation to extract maximum value from Moderna’s supply base, requiring a high level of proficiency in negotiating master agreements and statements of work for beneficial commercial and legal terms.

Your key responsibilities will be:
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and cultivate strategic stakeholder relationships to balance company needs and deliver total value, demonstrating a remove viscosity mindset to foster smoother, collective action.
Category Management: Develop and manage category plans, including spending analysis and sourcing initiative projects, applying an obsess over learning approach to continuously adapt and refine purchasing strategies based on evolving market conditions and internal needs.
Strategic Sourcing: Implement initiatives using advanced tools, partner with stakeholders to understand requirements, and finalize agreements, showcasing push past possible to secure optimal terms and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Supplier Management: Negotiate favorable terms and ensure compliance, leveraging a standard Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework to behave like owners, taking full accountability for supplier performance and relationship health.
Risk Management: Monitor supply base risk and implement mitigation strategies, embodying a pivot fearlessly attitude to address potential disruptions proactively and maintain supply chain resilience.
Savings Delivery: Achieve cost reductions and meet multi-year saving targets, using a question convention mindset to challenge existing cost structures and drive significant financial improvements.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Basic Qualifications:
9+ years of progressive experience in global procurement, with 2+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
Bachelor’s degree required; technical discipline preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (MBA, MS) and professional certifications (CPSM, MCIPS – or equivalent).
Strong skills in communication, project management, contract negotiation, and financial acumen.
Experience in Commercial Procurement services.
Ability to manage projects across multiple time zones.
Proven track record of savings delivery.
