Tewksbury Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a dynamic and skilled Clinical Psychologist IV to play an essential role in providing highly skilled direct clinical psychology services to patients in an inpatient adult medical population. This position involves being the coordinator for the group therapy services and facilitating various group therapy services including but not limited to dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) informed skills group, substance abuse groups, process-oriented groups. You will also formulate behavioral treatment plans for the patients as well as the treatment interventions (i.e., Individual Psychotherapy, Group Psychotherapy, and Behavioral Crisis Management). You'll play a crucial role in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and care. Additionally, you'll serve on the Rapid Response Team to de-escalate behavioral crises and prevent Help Calls.

You will also be pivotal in fostering a trauma-informed approach to critical incidents, and guide training programs for staff and professionals.  As the supervising psychologist for doctoral interns for our APA accredited clinical psychology internship, you will be instrumental in training and mentoring the next generation of clinicians. Your contributions as a consultant to multidisciplinary teams will help enhance patient care and foster a collaborative treatment environment.  Please Note:  This position works 40 hours per week, during the day shift.  Regular days off are Saturday and Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

  • ·       Provide individual, couples, family, group expressive, milieu and recreational therapy and staff monitoring for adult patients age 18+.
  • ·       Provide behavioral management interventions, training, and supervision to the staff of these    units and programs in order to implement treatment interventions for adult patients age 18+.
  • ·       Assign and track the clinical work (e.g., individual and group therapy; psychodiagnostic assessments) to the clinicians in the psychology department.
  • ·       Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on individual evaluations, group treatment work and family interventions.
  • ·       Coordinate various group therapy services including but not limited to DBT informed skills group, substance abuse groups, process-oriented groups, and psychological referral services.
  • ·       Provide guidance for trauma informed response to critical incidents on units.
  • ·       Conduct training programs for staff, students, public and professionals.
