Merlyn Mind is a "Remote First" VC-backed AI EdTech startup that brings the latest advances in AI to Education to help improve the lives of teachers and ultimately the learning outcomes of their students. Our leadership team includes talents from IBM, Amazon, Facebook, Roku, Broadcom, HP, Allen Institute for AI, and more. We have come together to build on a unified product experience for an extremely urgent mission – building a digital assistant for teachers, to untether teachers from the desk and help them with managing classroom technologies.
At Merlyn Mind, we are ensuring responsible development and deployment of Merlyn Mind’s AI solutions and AI platform services in the EdTech industry and beyond. If you join our Responsible AI team, you will join an organization committed to working cross-functionally across different organizations including our research, engineering, sales, product and platform teams.  

What You'll Do

  • This role requires a deep understanding of generative AI use cases and responsible AI, and a deep technical background to support responsible AI engineering commitments while keeping product innovation in mind 
  •  
  • This role requires technical background to develop responsible AI measurement, evaluation, mitigation techniques and able to evangelize those mitigations with technical teams.  
  •  
  • This role requires technical background to understand the latest research in evaluation, benchmarking of AI models (LLMs) for solutions, platforms and ability to champion evaluation methodologies.  
  •  
  • As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will collaborate with research, product and engineering stakeholders to drive new requirement, to deliver overall Safety/Responsible AI framework elements.  
  •  
  • Your responsibilities as a Principal Technical Program Manager for Responsible AI will include: 
  •  
  • Define strategy for Responsible AI testing, evaluation, benchmarking with stakeholder teams 
  •  
  • Conduct Red Teaming for models and third party risk assessment for our models 
  •  
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies proactively 
  •  
  • Manage priorities for the responsible AI engineering team based on a deep understanding of customer scenarios 
  •  
  • You will be an outstanding technical specialist with the strong communications skills needed to liaise with third party partners, Research scientists etc, to get Red Teaming, Risk assessment done  
  •  
  • Supporting the evaluation of third-party Responsible AI tools and frameworks 
  •  
  • Helping with the development and delivery of Responsible AI technical training, tools and assets 
  •  
  • Partner and collaborate with teams across the organization with focus on a common goal 
  •  
  • Create clarity in a complex technical environment, align stakeholder’s expectations and manage status communication 
  •  
  • Use creative product thinking to synthesize successful solutions into scalable platform solutions for Responsible AI 
  •

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product development OR Masters Degree and 7+ years of experience 
  • 7+  years experience managing technical cross-functional and/or cross-team projects 
  • Experience with Responsible AI or AI Development  
  • Ability to meet Merlyn Mind company requirements
