Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (Level 4 or 5) to join the Controller team in one of the following locations:

  • Arlington, Virginia

The Senior Financial Analyst role resides within the BDS Finance organization and will support the BDS Controller and requires integration of various functions, sites, and data sources. As part of this team, you will be an integral business partner with the opportunity to drive financial decisions.

The Senior Financial Analyst will:

  • Play a key role in contributing to the organization’s success by using decision making, problem solving, customer focus, analytical skills, financial reporting and general financial acumen to help the team drive results

  • Lead and support integration and management of financial forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs), quarterly financial reviews, functional cost integration, risk management, and other BDS Finance integration responsibilities

  • Work with various executives and their teams, which will allow the candidate to receive great insight to the business as well as experience in cross functional integration

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who works well both individually and in a team. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Co-leads the integration and analysis of complex integrated financial forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) for programs, business units or the enterprise

  • Assists in the the coordination and development of quarterly financial reviews 

  • Makes recommendations to management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience

  • Conducts analysis of external financial statement results and projections in support of quarterly earnings release and quarterly/annual SEC filings

  • Understands impacts of business decisions on rates structure including overhead pools; measures and maintains performance to plan

  • Provides finance strategy and support to the BDS business transformation leader by collecting, organizing and analyzing data used to develop recommendations for senior leadership

  • Leads continuous process improvement and special project initiatives 

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a business related function (including but not limited to: Finance, Contracts, Estimating, Procurement Financial Analysis, Business Operations, Supplier Management, Marketing & Sales)

  • 3+ years or experience in using advanced features in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, and Power Point

  • 3+ years of experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings, then subsequently developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the work group level

  • 3+ years of experience working in cross functional environment and/or business unit teams

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 5+ year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, time management, and workload prioritization skills

  • Experience working with financial tools (i.e. Interactive Reporting Environment (IRE), Financial Project Cost Report (FPCR), Enterprise Analysis System (EAS), etc.)

  • Experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

  • Experience developing and analyzing Financial forecasts

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill

  • Ability to adapt to evolving work statements and business environment
