Under general administrative direction reporting to the Director of Ambulatory services, is accountable for the delivery of patient care services which support the strategic plan of the organization and achieves clinical, financial and service quality objectives in our Ambulatory Obstetric/GYN Programs. Our Center for Advanced Fetal Care, a maternal-fetal medicine practice located at the downtown UMMC campus, provides routine and specialty fetal ultrasound scanning, fetal monitoring and assessment and fetal intervention to high-risk obstetric patients. Pioneering the care of fetus and mother, our team of sonographers, nurses, genetic counselors and maternal fetal medicine are national leaders in the care of complex maternal / fetal diagnosis and treatment. We offer consultation and interdisciplinary care coordination for high-risk patients working closely with our US News and World Report top 50 ranking Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team and our Pediatric Cardiology and general surgery experts to coordinate expert consultation and care for expectant families. The Nurse Manager also has oversight of our Maryland Center for Reproductive Health offering consultation, examinations, pregnancy counseling, and minor gyn family planning services in our private ambulatory setting. Also located within the main hospital of the UMMC downtown campus, our academic medical center location enables our team to provide the highest level of services with access to a variety to specialty GYN surgeons, genetic counselors and other clinical experts to provide services to the highest risk patients.
The nurse manager is accountable for day-to-day ambulatory operations, quality of clinical services delivered, for the competency and performance of nursing, allied health and front desk staff, and for designing and maintaining systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and continuity of services within Ambulatory Services. In partnership with the Ob/Gyn faculty and the University of Maryland Children's Hospital, the nurse manager serves as a key participant in achieving organizational objectives consistent with our mission, vision and values.
