SUMMARY

The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the following regularly or as a backup:

  • Receive and unload freight, by hand and/or forklift, while checking for damages.
  • Identify each pallet, accurately record the freight on log sheet, and generate internal tracking numbers.
  • Pull and load equipment, tools, and freight from the storage area, load them by hand and/or forklift, and ensure everything is securely tied down for safe transport. Fulfill Material Tool and Requisition Form orders as received, palletizing as needed in a central location for pickup or delivery.
  • Keep efficient record of tool numbers and quantities for tracking purposes.
  • Log and inspect returned tools, documenting any damages and carrying out necessary maintenance to ensure the tools remain excellent condition.
  • Receive and stock consumable items, ensuring shelves are always well-stocked and organized.
  • Assist with the daily loading of trucks, including Company materials, ductwork, pipes, etc., on a daily basis.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations or a similar role (inventory management, logistics, etc.) is essential.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, OSHA, and relevant safety practices.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
