JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Physics at Penn State is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar. This individual will work with Dr. Reka Albert on performing computational research involving biological data analysis and modeling of biological systems. In particular, they will develop and apply algorithms to construct discrete dynamic models of signal transduction networks using biological perturbation-observation pairs. They will also develop Markov chain models to determine the functional landscape of biological regulatory systems. The postdoctoral researcher will write research publications and assist with grant proposal development. 

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field. Applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a statement of research interests electronically. Additionally, three reference letters should be sent to rza1@psu.edu.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
