As an Engineering Site Manager - Commissioning & Outage based in out our new headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA you will be a part of the Thermal Power Projects group and support outage site management for Distributed Control System (DCS) retrofit projects across thermal and renewable power applications. This role plays a critical part in leading safe, efficient, and high‑quality outage execution from planning through final acceptance.
As part of Emerson’s Power & Water Solutions business, you will be based at and join a diverse engineering team delivering fully engineered control system solutions for power generation customers across North America.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Implement outage plans for installation and commissioning of control system retrofit projects with a strong focus on safety
Lead Emerson team members through complex outages, coordinating demolition, installation, loop checks, functional testing, startup, and tuning activities
Integrate subcontractors and Emerson personnel into a unified team by providing clear, consistent direction
Support a wide range of DCS retrofit applications, including Balance‑of‑Plant, steam turbines, gas turbines, photovoltaic solar, and hydro systems
Oversee craft labor teams and ensure completion of the full project scope
Serve as the primary customer contact while maintaining ongoing communication with internal stakeholders
Prepare and communicate daily work status reports, including action plans
Manage outage schedules and resource planning to reduce financial impacts and maintain project performance
Identify and resolve issues quickly to support project success
Ensure customer satisfaction from pre‑outage planning through final acceptance
When not supporting outages, assist with contractor walkdowns, Scope of Work preparation, cost estimating, proposal inputs, pre‑outage planning, technical guidance, and subcontractor relationship development

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Experience in power generation or related industry
- Proven success working in electrical construction, engineering, or project management roles
Knowledge of power generation or related industrial environments
- Ability to travel to customer power plants approximately 50–60% of the time
Ability to work in industrial environments, including standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and occasionally lifting or carrying equipment (approximately 25–40 pounds).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suites (Word and Excel)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Familiarity with DCS/PLC systems
- Familiarity with Ovation and WDPF
- Knowledge or electrical and mechanical equipment and associated field I/O
- Experience supporting complex retrofit projects in operational plant environments
