Director of Finance

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Director of Finance within our Finance team to help support our Automotive business. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. In this role, you will report to the VP of Finance you will lead the accounting and finance function for the North American locations and are expected to drive efficiency and improvement in all aspects of the function.  This role will interact heavily with functional leadership across the organization to provide financial guidance and support overall performance and profitability.  

So, what will you be doing as the Director of Finance?

 

• Lead the finance and accounting function for the region.
• Train, develop, and coach controller team by identifying skill gaps and drive training for optimal performance.
• Lead regional compliance function and serve as next level reviewer and approver.
• Supports the FP&A function with regional financial data and serve as key input into the financial planning process to improve accuracy and clarity.
• Address reporting requests as needed.
• Identify and lead regional initiative to improve processes and profitability.
• Act as a key contributor to management reviews of reports including financial reporting and guidance.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

 

• 4 years University degree in accounting, finance, business, or related; MBA preferred
• CMA or CPA required
• 10+ years of finance and accounting leadership within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred) spanning various facilities and countries
• Experience in activities such as financial close, budgeting/forecasting, internal controls, internal and external audit management, ad hoc analysis, management reporting, US GAAP, and taxation
• Ability to lead a remote global team and demonstrated experience developing talent
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in ERP systems, familiarity with Microsoft D365 preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail and process
• High integrity and ethical standards, and an ability to handle confidential information
