Position Summary:
The FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine seeks a dynamic and collaborative clinical faculty member at the rank of Associate/Full Professor to serve as a Neurology Program Director, a key leadership position role responsible for the development, administration, and oversight of the FAU Consortium Neurology Residency Program. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the program's educational and clinical aspects, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, resident education, and research within the field of neurology. The Program Director will work collaboratively with faculty, residents, and other stakeholders to advance the program's goals and contribute to the institution's mission.

The Neurology Program Director - Associate/Full Professor will have the following specific responsibilities:
Program Development and Administration:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision and goals for the Neurology Program in alignment with the institution's mission and objectives and in a fashion consistent with the needs of the community.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, budget, and resources of the program.
- Collaborate with departmental and institutional leadership to ensure program growth and sustainability.
Residency Training and Education:
- Design, implement, and assess the neurology residency curriculum, including didactic and clinical components.
- Provide mentorship and support to residents, promoting their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and coordinate the accreditation process.
Clinical Excellence:
- Lead efforts to maintain and enhance the quality of patient care within the neurology department.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to establish and maintain best practices, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety protocols.
- Foster a patient-centered approach to care and address patient feedback and concerns.
Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Encourage and support faculty and residents in neurology research, including securing funding, conducting studies, and publishing results.
- Promote a culture of evidence-based practice and continuous learning within the program.
- Facilitate collaborations with other departments and institutions to advance research efforts.
Faculty Development and Recruitment:
- Recruit and retain skilled and qualified faculty members.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities and mentorship for faculty to enhance teaching, research, and clinical skills.
Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, referring physicians, and healthcare organizations.
- Participate in outreach and educational activities to raise awareness about neurology services and research.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on health initiatives.
Accreditation and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation for program accreditation.
- Stay informed about changes in accreditation requirements and incorporate them into program policies and procedures.
