Overview
About the Role
Performs a wide variety of administrative and support services within the Purchasing Department. Assists in the planning and support of program activities. Coordinates office operations. Full and complete responsibility for all Compliance Document issuance and tracking.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for providing administrative, analytical, computing and staff support for the department.
- Executes assignments and tasks requiring data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages.
- Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquiries.
- Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.
- Actively manages the University-wide Contract database.
- Maintains or assists in maintaining department accounts, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with budgets.
- Serves as principal liaison between the department and other administrative units such as Accounts Payable, Human Resources and Information Services and Technology.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Required:
- Associate's Degree plus two (2) years of administrative/secretarial experience.
- Must be PC literate including knowledge of Word, Banner, MarketPlace.
- Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is TC/2000 - $27.20–$ 27.70- $ 28.53 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
