Royal Caribbean Group’s Supply Chain Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager, Procurement reporting to the AVP, Fuel Supply Chain 

 

Position Summary: 

Cruise Industry procurement leader for marine fuel products, lubricant oils and chemicals. Provides strategic guidance and day-to-day management to the team of Procurement Managers and buyers to establish compliant, cost-effective and uninterrupted processes to secure fuel, lube oils, caustic soda and urea for RCG’s global fleet. Proactively engages suppliers, ports, government authorities to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, delivery schedule, maritime safety/security requirements. This position monitor’s global markets, maintains short term and long-range plans, provides frequent updates to the vessels, Global Marine Operations, Newbuild, Deployment and Corporate Finance Leaders on day-to-day fuel ops, opportunities, value creation and supplier performance. Additionally, the Sr. Procurement Manager should possess strong financial and analytical expertise to establish themselves as a subject-matter expert (SME) in the Fuel and Supply Chain Management organization. This includes expertise in gathering business requirements, collecting, storing relevant data and providing the data-driven solution in an easy-to-understand format to our stakeholders.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for executing the Fuel, Lube oil, Chemicals sourcing and delivery operations for RCI, CEL, SSC and TUI which results in over in over 1.7 million tons of annual fuel consumption, 35 million liters of annual lubes, chemical consumption and >$1 Billion in direct fuel expense.
• Direct the fuel sourcing strategy for >40% of global bunker ports & regions including, U.S. PNW 100%, U.S. West Coast 100%, U.S. Gulf 100%, Alaska 100 %, U.S. Caribbean 100%.
• Own the strategic development of long term off take agreements for Lube Oil and Chemical sourcing strategy for 100% of global ports and regions which results in >$50 million in direct annual expenditure.
• Develops strategic supply chain for future lower-carbon lubricant technologies including the use renewable resources, synthetic based bio and recycled oils to meet RCG’s carbon reduction goals and emerging carbon reduction mandates in EU, Canada, U.S. and Australia.
• Proactively collaborates with emerging fuel and lube providers, central and local governments, port authorities to establish alternative fuel production and supply chain with particular focus on second generation biofuels, Bio-LNG and Green methanol.
• Develop system integration of Project Catalyst and Oracle upgrades into day-to-day procure to pay functions for Fuel, Lubes & Chemicals.
• Own the Global Fuel Procurement reconciliation and transaction strategy including analyzing, researching, and correcting, pricing, quantity, and delivery discrepancies of more then 5k orders per year.
• Formulate highly sophisticated procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and very volatile variables that drive petroleum and chemical markets. Negotiates contractual premiums, transportation and delivery schedule based on advanced economic order quantity concepts as well as compatibility of specific bunker products.
• Leads continuous oversight of the order process, communications with suppliers and the vessels to ensure 99.9% delivery and specification accuracy given the extraordinary importance of timely fuel supply for our ability to deliver the cruise to the guests.
• Work with shipbuilding companies and transportation operations to develop logistical infrastructure, land and marine vehicles to transport and deliver alternative fuels to our fleet in key global ports.
