Hybrid: Two days in office required 

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Sr. Benefits Specialist will own global Benefits programs for Illumio’s almost 600 employees in a dozen countries. 

Every day you will work to identify cost effective ways to enhance the Illumio benefits offerings while ensuring compliance with local laws and statutes, and deliver a robust, competitive Benefits Program for employees and the business. 

In order to thrive in this role, you must have mastered the ability to span between strategic and tactical activities on a regular basis. You naturally default to influencing through data and have a strong portfolio of benefits expertise that clearly defines you as the expert in the room on all things benefits.

You will apply a consultative, data driven approach to delivering impactful benefits programs in a high growth, fast paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensure that the leave and disability programs are administered accurately, consistently, and uniformly and in line with established policies and procedures including applicable laws and regulations 

• Coordinate leave of absence and salary supplement process in coordination with our external third-party administrator and in-house departments 

• Develop and conduct new hire and annual benefits open enrollment; including enrollment system configuration and testing  

• Manage vendor relationships, measure performance, and look for opportunities to optimize performance 

• Conduct international benefits projects / analyses, and recommend plan design changes as appropriate 

• Develop / deliver supporting communication strategies that drive program awareness globally 

• Prepare data submissions for compliance or documentation related actions such as 5500s, non-discrimination testing, applications, and audits 

• Plan and deliver special events such as annual wellness fairs and “lunch & learns” 

• Monitor benefit enrollments, terminations, changes in coverage, and beneficiaries administered by third party administrators, and audit as necessary 

• Review and validate periodic premium payment 

• Respond to employee benefit inquiries and resolve issues 

• Create or maintain current procedures documentation and planning calendars 

• Update company information resources such as IllumiNATION, Illumio’s intranet, and recruiting summaries 

Experience:

• 6+ years of progressive benefits experience across areas of design, implementation, management, and administration preferably in a fast-paced, mid-size, scaling global environment 

• Bachelor degree in a related field 

• Significant experience administering Health & Welfare, Retirement, Income Protection, Time Off, Wellness, and other benefits programs 

• Highly analytical with the critical thinking skills required to resolve complex administrative and accounting issues 

• Organized but flexible, with the ability to stay agile in a fast-paced environment 

• Strong project management skills 

• Strong communication and presentation skill set with the ability influence all levels of the organization 

• Demonstrated experience using database and reporting systems, preferably Workday 

• Must be highly proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook 

• Benefits certification preferred
