Engineering | Research AdministrationExercises sound judgment in independently managing and administering sponsored programs; responsible for program planning and development, proposal submission and project administration; establishes and maintains strong working relationships with principal investigators (PIs) and sponsors within assigned constituency; prepares proposal budgets and institutional assurances; understands preferred positions of the university and negotiates contracts and agreements that support the position of the institution; establishes and maintains awards and grants in Workday; continually monitors fiscal performance and status of required deliverable items; provides guidance to PIs and administrative staff related to sponsor requirements, approvals and expenditures; ensures compliance with sponsor and University requirements; assumes responsibility for larger efforts, such as multidisciplinary and centers projects; serves a mentor/coach for less senior program officers and assists them in managing nonstandard awards and contracts; assists office director with review and analysis of business processes and establishes/participates in cross-unit teams to develop effective procedures and associated training materials; may have supervisory responsibilities and/or manage an on-campus office; may serve as subject matter expert and/or develop and lead training/outreach programs for research community, including PIs, department administrators and Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) staff; serves on organization-wide committees; relative distribution of duties varies with constituency assignment;

Qualifications:
Education Required:
4 years of experience in research administration, preferably in an institution of higher education; knowledge of, and experience with, federal or private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, procurement, budgeting, accounting and financial management; knowledge of research administration compliance requirements, applicable laws and regulations; considerable customer service and problem-solving experience; business experience in an administrative capacity.
Desired: knowledge of and experience using the Workday Grant Module strongly desired; knowledge of and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $63,400 - $84,550. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
