C-26 (Metroliner) Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Clarksburg, WV.

The C-26 (Metroliner) Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. 

• A valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required.

• Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of hands-on maintenance experience on the assigned aircraft C-26 (Fairchild Metroliner) aircraft.

• US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Clearance and for facility/base access at this site location.

• Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. 

• These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.

• Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.

• Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.

• Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.

• Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.

• Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.

• Perform engine run or taxi operations.  Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.

• Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.

• Union CBA provides 3 levels of A&P experience based on years of experience on the assigned MDS aircraft C-26 (Metroliner).

• AM-1 - Two (2) Years A&P experience is required, with two (2) or more years of C-26 experience being preferred. 

• AM-2 - Five (5) years of C-26 mechanic experience is required. 

• AM-3 - Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience required, and Thirteen (13) years of C-26 experience required for an AM-3, under the Union CBA.

• Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox; Tools must be etched with mechanic PID and Toolbox shadowed for each tool. (Recruiter will provide Tool requirements).

• Valid Driver's License is required. 

• Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

• **Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA. (Shifts are bid and assigned per the Union CBA, based on seniority).

(AR95-20) A&P Mechanic Pre-employment Medical Requirements:

• Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years. (BMI Body Mass Index below 40 is required).

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt Security Clearance, and for facility credentials, base access and authorization to work at this site/facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.

• Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.

• Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

• Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.

• Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
