Position Overview: In addition to NDT Level 1 & Level 2 duties and responsibilities, the NDT Supervisor provides direct and overall leadership to department personnel within their respective area. 


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote department goals and objectives. Ensure that department KPIs and metrics are understood and supported by all department personnel.
  • Manage the day-to-day production schedule and maintain flexibility to accommodate expedite requests. This involves prioritizing workflow and communicating effectively with all applicable MIL personnel to meet internal and customer demands. 
  • Promote and encourage teamwork, within and across all MIL departments.
  • Ensure that department personnel have the necessary training, tools and materials to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide guidance and awareness to ensure compliance with MIL policies. In addition, document and report any safety and personnel concerns to the NDT Manager.
  • Provide training, monitor and maintain labor tracking/reporting activities using MIL’s internal software.
  • Promote and enforce proper housekeeping and adherence to applicable environmental and safety procedures. 
  • Provide and/or facilitate on-the-job training to department personnel and act as a mentor for individuals working to acquire experience and knowledge of the inspection process. 
  • Ensure department personnel attendance, participation and completion of NDT classroom training sessions, on-the job experience documentation, and examinations to advance their level of certification. 
  • Support and participate in internal/external audit activities to ensure departmental compliance to customer and industry requirements. Assist NDT and QA Management in root cause analysis, implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Take part in and support company-wide training and continuous improvement opportunities toward quality assurance initiatives, company objectives and peripheral projects.

  • Ability to provide assertive and effective leadership to department personnel. 
  • Must be a quality focused, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistent accuracy while adhering to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflict in an efficient and respectful manner.
  • Must have the skills to navigate Microsoft Office applications and other MIL internal software programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Must be physically capable of being on your feet for extended periods of time and handle parts safely, ranging in size and weight.
