As a Cluster Manager (Team Lead), you will lead an Accounting Team, be responsible for delivering high-quality financial services across multiple entities. This role offers the opportunity to shape processes, drive improvements, and develop people in a collaborative, international enviroment while working closely with key stakeholders. The role requires to work with complex topics, make sense of data and react quickly to changes in accounting regulations.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and manage an international accounting team across multiple countries and legal entities, ensuring professional service delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards
- Ensure compliance and quality control – guarantee adherence to accounting policies, standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls (ICOFR)
- Monitor and report performance metrics – track, measure, and report SLA/KPI achievements in the agreed manner, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks and backlogs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives – lead and contribute to quality improvement projects, initiate process enhancements, and promote innovative solutions for service optimization
- Manage process documentation and standardization – maintain up-to-date operational procedures and ensure all operations adhere to the standardized process landscape
- Develop and motivate your team – conduct performance reviews, create development plans, organize training programs, promote Clariant Values, and actively participate in recruitment and retention efforts
- Handle escalations and partner relationships – respond to critical inquiries as first-level escalation, maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction
- Plan capacity and ensure business continuity – organize team capacity planning, backup arrangements, knowledge transfer sessions, and proper work distribution to guarantee seamless operations
- Lead change and innovation – drive adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working while building a Lean culture focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement
What are we looking for?
- Team management experience (min. 3 years) – fundamental for the manager role
- Leadership and communication skills – crucial for motivating and developing people
- Strong accounting knowledge (min. 5 years) – essential for ensuring quality and compliance
- Process and results orientation – guarantee of operational efficiency
- Change management capability – important in a dynamic GBS environment
- Analytical Thinking & Problem solving mindset - important for immediately solving all issues and ensuring smooth processes for next month end closures
- Good communication skills - for coordination of process and agreements between GBS teams and Local finance units
- Language skills: Fluent English (C1)
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Controlling
- Accounting courses completion (SKWP, IFRS, ACCA) – as advantage
