The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Global Advanced Manufacturing Build Coordinator.
Job Summary
The GAM Senior Analyst Project (Build Coordinator) provides program management support to the Global Advanced Manufacturing (GAM) Launch Team in their execution of the company Life Cycle Plan (LCP).
This role will interface with the GAM team, York Process Engineering, York Operations and PDC Engineering teams to plan and execute silent build events (BE) at YVO and the 3PLs.
The Coordinator, along with GAM Launch Managers and Technical Trainers, manages the daily operational facets of the New Product Development Lab - planning and coordinating both strategic and operational activities including the coordination all key resources and materials necessary to execute successful lab build events.
Job Responsibilities
Lead Lab and NPC Readiness to support build events
• Demonstrate in-depth skill and experience in the planning and execution of build events or implementation projects across multiple functions and departments.
• Develop and coordinate routine communication of area readiness; includes status tracking (POAP), issue resolution and help chain escalation.
• Support the Launch Team with the preparation, editing and overall management of leadership reporting materials for executive meetings, strategic programs and events.
• Act as primary point of contact for Lab or NPC readiness to support build events.
• Identify areas of contribution towards successful build execution and achieving silent launch goals.
Work with NPSM and Plant SM to track and maintain Lab/NPC Material readiness to support upcoming build events
• Manages the NPD Lab part inventory picture and coordinates receipt and transfer of material.
• Acts as POC for transferring and staging material between the NPD Lab and NPC, as well as planning and staging NPC build area for upcoming events.
Drive BE Issue Management (CMs)
• Lead the capture and communication of DV, PV, Pre-Prod, and SOP Countermeasures, monitoring progress on resolution, and following up with issue owners to drive closure. Facilitate creating Jira tickets for issues with longer resolution time OR which require work with cross functional teams / help from leadership team.
• Analyzes production and quality data, and supports requests for data collection and analysis from business areas with robust document and data management tools and methods.
Drive Lab CIS and coordinate implementation of Lab improvement projects
• Support lab project work utilizing standardized project management tools. Manage project deliverables, coordinate work assignments, and track progress to ensure project goals are accomplished within defined scope, time, and cost constraints.
• Identify, plan and execute lab continuous improvement projects to drive improved build event execution.
• Acts as a general support resource for purchase requisition generation, the work request system, and H-D CIS.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree PreferredEducation Specifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Design, Technology or related field is Preferred.
PMP Certification is preferred
Experience Requirements
Required
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize teams from different disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience managing inventory for prototype component or vehicle builds.
• Experience conducting vehicle development prototype builds and/or vehicle testing coordination.
• Experience with work tracking software.
• Entry level Project Management experience leading small projects using standard methodology. PMP Certification preferred.
