Salary: Up to £27,188.00 per year

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across the Southeast of England. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for an Instrument Lead to join their team of staff.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Excellent instrumentation knowledge.
• Knowledge of all SSD machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of decontamination and washing procedures.
• Knowledge of sterile packing techniques.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines in sterile services.
• Good organizational skills to ensure instruments are repaired / replaced within SLA timeframes.
• IDSC Technical Certificate.
• NHS Intuition Certificate.
• Hepatitis B Immunisation is required for this job role.
• Ability to work alone and as part of an integrated team.
• Self-assured to speak to a diverse customer base.

Duties of this role include:

• You take responsibility and manage the daily instrument repairs and replacement programme for the unit.
• You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• You liaise with the approved providers for instrument repairs and replacements to ensure the efficient correction and turnaround of instrumentation sets.
• You look for ways of identifying trends of repairs against items to evaluate if things can be done different to reduce the number of repairs and damage to instruments.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.
