Senior Staff Accountant 

Finance Department 

Reports to: Senior Accounting Manager 

Job Summary 

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance department by creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This individual will interact with employees across the organization who are purchasing items or services from established vendors and inputting these bills in a timely fashion and ensuring they are paid per Calcium’s policy.  

Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following) 

  • Maintain accurate financial records, record journal entries and record keeping in accordance with GAAP 

  • Input accounts payable with speed and accuracy  

  • Manage vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies and disputes 

  • Assist in drafting/updating accounting SOPs and other documentation  

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and reconcile them to the client and corporate PL and BS 

  • Assist with accounts receivable payment applications and handle bank deposits 

  • Manage corporate credit card program and employee expense reports and ensure proper financial system entry 

  • Update A/P file and prepare weekly ACH/check-run 

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, amortization, and general ledger reconciliations 

  • Prepare and issue 1099s annually  

  • Assist with year-end financial audit by independent accounting firm 

  • Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies 

Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements) 

  • 5+ years of experience in financial accounting (advertising agency experience a plus) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills 

  • Organized, detail oriented and able to transition quickly between tasks  

  • Ability to work independently and in teams
