Position Overview
The Facilities Management Services Administration Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Senior Custodian to join their team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Dust all vertical horizontal surfaces, sweep, vacuum carpet, spot clean walls as needed. Collect and dispose of trash/recycling. Wet/dry mop floors, clean/disinfect restrooms, restock supplies, polish stainless/chrome, spot clean glass/mirrors. Spot clean upholstery and other duties as needed. Be able to use a computer for emails, calendar, eLeave and evaluations. All duties are interchangeable and required as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of custodial procedures and techniques. Comprehensive understanding of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and products used in custodial work.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations. Familiarity MSD sheets, and other safety protocols related to custodial work.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of employee supervision, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of inventory control. Understanding of inventory management for cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Skill of leadership and management. Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of custodial staff effectively.
- Skill of communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with staff, management, and other stakeholders. Ability to communicate to a bilingual staff.
- Skill problem-solving. Skilled in identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions efficiently. <
