Leveraging knowledge and expertise, the company will secure suitable sites for data centers and be focusing on developing the necessary infrastructure to successfully develop the data centers for potential customers. Our focus is on attracting clients who will operate these data centers, ensuring their needs are met through our high-value, innovative solutions. POSITION OVERVIEWThe Manager, Data Center Development will focus on supporting the end-to-end process of securing land for potential data center projects and managing the development of essential infrastructure such as power, water, and fiber. This role involves overseeing various aspects of the project development process, including collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful development of data centers. Travel up to 50% is expected in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute on strategies to support data center site acquisition, infrastructure development, and overall business development growth plans.
• Technical Collaboration and Site Selection: Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify and pursue site selection opportunities, including the provisioning of utilities (e.g., power, water, fiber).
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations and agreements with local governments, economic development agencies, and landowners, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Reporting and Analytics: Regularly track and report on development performance metrics, pipeline status, and market feedback to senior leadership. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve project processes and outcomes.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as support on all client interface engagements, leading customer meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at various organizational levels, from data center executives to technical staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience leading site selection, business development, engineering, or a related role within the Data Center sector.
• Experience in real estate transactions, financial modeling, infrastructure development, and/or utility provisioning.
• Proven track record of securing complex negotiations and drafting agreements.
• Strong understanding of the data center market, including client needs, industry trends and the competitive landscape.
• Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and stakeholders (up to 50% of the time).
