JOB SUMMARY:

Establishes the production plans, prepares, controls, and maintains the daily production build plan, and provides administrative support to the production department. Releases and distributes orders for assigned departments. Performs daily production reporting while focusing on past dues.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Coordinates execution of department production schedule
  • Creates and communicates the daily plan/schedule for production.
  • Gathers and reviews data from manufacturing and support organizations, coordinates with capacity and material analysis to resolve material and capacity discrepancies that affect the schedule
  • Translates anticipated demand into production and purchase orders for internal and external suppliers
  • Attends production and planning meetings
  • Works closely with the Customer Service Department, Purchasing Department, Production Department, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Shipping Department to ensure products are produced and shipped per schedule.
  • Processes change notices.
  • Processes IT requests for errors or process improvements
  • Fulfills replacement part orders.
  • Monitors daily attendance
  • Completes daily MDI reports.
  • Supports with department processes during orientation for new hires.
  • Cross-trains team members on processes and assists with production as needed.
  • Create purchase requisitions for department supplies as required using the purchasing system.
  • Performs safety inspections
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer literacy including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AS400.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

 

 

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

2-3 years’ experience in production roles handling multiple priorities and multitasking to achieve goals and deadlines.  3+ years of production scheduling/planning is preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

APICS certification is a plus

Computer Skills:

PC proficiency is essential, as experience with Microsoft Office products and MRP systems (AS400 preferred)

Mathematical Abilities:

Ability to use MS Excel to analyze data and present in a meaningful manner

 

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:

Effective leadership, administration, analytical, and communication skills (written and oral).

Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning)

Excellent grasp of the English language to understand and verbally communicate instructions. Ability to effectively conduct meetings with internal customer groups. Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.

Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)

Organizational and time management skills are required. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment. A team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment. Ability to plan and organize and to set priorities to meet deadlines.
