Direct Support Professional (DSP) – High-Needs Case (Nurse or CNA Preferred)
New Wilmington, PA | $18/hr | Tuesday & Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
A highly experienced, compassionate caregiver is needed to support a young woman with complex medical and personal-care needs in New Wilmington, PA. This is a high personal care, medium behavior support, and substantial lifting role. Candidates with 3+ years of experience are required, and nurses or CNAs are strongly preferred. Additional hours are available by supporting other clients in the area.
About the Individual
The client is non-ambulatory and non-verbal and requires 24-hour supervision due to a significant seizure disorder and periods of extreme sleeplessness (up to 36 hours at a time). She requires full assistance for all transfers and mobility. She is tube-fed for all food and medications. Communication occurs through an iPad, picture-based choices, and non-verbal cues. There are pets in the home.
Schedule Needed
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Additional hours may be added by working with other clients in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Full personal care support (bathing, hygiene, toileting, dressing)
- Tube-feeding administration (training provided if needed)
- Medication support
- Full assistance with transfers (no independent mobility)
- Monitoring and responding to seizure activity
- Behavioral support during periods of agitation or distress
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment
- Engaging the client using communication tools and sensory activities
Who We’re Looking For
- Nurse, CNA, or highly experienced DSP
- 3+ years of direct care experience required
- Comfortable with high personal care and full-assist transfers
- Able to manage medically complex needs
- Patient, calm, and confident with non-verbal communication
- Comfortable with pets in the home
- Reliable, consistent, and compassionate
Compensation
- $18.00 per hour
- Additional hours available with nearby clients
