This is a DIRECT hire opportunity, NOT a Contractual role.

Job Description

As a Senior Vehicle Weight Architect, you will lead discussions and problem solving around weight and load capacity management within the Vehicle Geometrical Architect area for all current and future projects. Working with many cross-functional teams you will compile, and present weight data and load capacity feature status based on the project targets and feature position.

You will also be responsible for:

• Investigate and present the weight and deltas of components and assemblies.
• Verify that weight targets are met to satisfy project targets.
• Calculate current production weights to compare and estimate future weight deltas.
• Calculate axle loads, and weight distribution to comply with legal restrictions.
• Write requests and participate in weight measurement and tear-down activities.
• Create and present load capacity roadmaps to projects and stakeholders.
• Attending cross-functional meetings to understand component changes and to propose enhancements.
• Propose weight reduction solutions for complete vehicle offering.
• Conduct competitor vehicle analysis to improve our internal designs and competitive stance.
• Give input regarding weight advantages to Global Manufacturing, Aftermarket and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field; master’s degree preferred.
• 8 -12+ years of experience in product development projects within automotive and/or in commercial vehicles.
• Competence in ProE/Creo and experience on a CAD system are preferred.
• Proven experience collaborating in a cross-function team.
• Highly skilled in Microsoft office tools, organization, presenting with the ability to communicate in written and spoken English.
