About the role

ROLE SUMMARY

The Omnichannel Services and Solutions (OSS) team deliver digital marketing technology, solutions and services across all business units and markets within Pfizer and is part of the Customer and Commercial Creation Centre (C4) organisation in Pfizer Digital, enabling the delivery of solutions and services which are both compliant but also in line with Pfizer technology and commercial strategies.

As the Solution Engineering Team Lead for OSS, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical architecture, platforms, and tools that power our internal and end-to-end marketing solutions. Working with Regional Delivery Leads within OSS, you will serve as a technical leader, collaborating cross-functionally to drive the delivery of innovative, high-performing digital experiences for our clients.

Alongside your team, you’ll define and run engineering services such as performance reviews, code quality assessments, and AI solution evaluations—ensuring high standards across all delivered systems.

This role also involves driving best practices in engineering, from CI/CD pipelines and testing to architectural reviews and documentation, adapting to the needs of the business and OSS, applying AI as needed to drive value and efficiencies. You’ll play a key role in evaluating vendors, accelerating team delivery through internal tooling, and fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence across the wider engineering community.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Solution Delivery

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal teams seeking support in designing, building, and deploying scalable software solutions.
  • Support OSS Delivery Leads with solution engineering on BAU projects and influence technical decisions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of internal tools, templates, and frameworks to accelerate delivery across multiple teams within OSS
  • Working closely with CX&AI, drive integration of AI capabilities into solutions, from initial experimentation to production-grade deployment, including responsible use of generative AI.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders and third-party vendors to architect and implement robust, efficient, and secure systems.
     

Engineering Service

  • Manage and mentor a team of Solution Engineers, ensuring alignment with set strategic goals from leadership and high-quality delivery.
  • Define, develop, and operationalize a set of engineering enablement services—such as performance benchmarking, code quality reviews, architectural consulting, and AI solution assessment—to support internal teams and elevate delivery standards across the organization.
  • Facilitate technical planning, solution reviews, and implementation roadmaps to ensure vendor-delivered solutions meet internal standards and business requirements.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and documentation.
  • Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and hands-on support where needed to unblock technical challenges.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI trends, tools, and models (e.g., LLMs, vector databases, RAG pipelines), and assess their practical application within internal and vendor solutions.
  • Support the evaluation, onboarding, and technical due diligence of third-party vendors, especially in relation to their AI capabilities and engineering quality.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence within the team and extended engineering community.
  • Lead internal forums, working groups, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate engineering practices across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across the OSS organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management preferred but not essential.
  • BA/BS with at least 6 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 5 years of experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in and leading software development teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • ​Proficiency in user interface design and technical implementations from build kits
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills to navigate cross-functional dynamics.
