Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Associate Director, Advanced Insights Business Growth Innovation and Advocacy. This role is open for applicants based in specified J&J locations in US, Switzerland and Belgium.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for translating analytics and generating actionable insights from data with a high level of autonomy. The incumbent will lead and manage analytics and data science projects within the Innovative Health and Global Development organization. Utilizing strong technical expertise in the data science and analytics space, the individual will generate insights and provide data-driven solutions to meet business needs while collaborating with key stakeholders.
In addition to executing on strategy, this role will contribute to the definition and development of new initiatives, processes, standards, and operational plans that support organizational and business outcomes. This position requires a proactive approach to project execution, while managing project deliverables, timelines and ensuring alignment with functional objectives.
This role will be accountable for mid to large-scale projects and actively participates in cross-functional initiatives. Managing a number of projects, including those of moderate to high complexity, the individual will have significant influence over business unit outcomes. Through strategic project execution and insights generation, the role will directly impact the overall productivity and generate operational efficiencies of the organization, driving growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director, Advanced Insights will
Lead and execute clinical and operation advanced analytics that facilitates gaining deep insight to clinical and operation data for relevant business partners in Global Development (GD) and clinical therapeutic areas.
Develop and lead in the development of novel quantitative and data science solutions to generate deep insights from disparate data sources.
Provide subject matter expertise to teams in identification and application of the right data science methodology for a business problem.
Formulate the right business problem in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization and create necessary analysis plans.
Develop machine learning methodologies both supervised and unsupervised as appropriate to the business problem.
Develop scalable and robust code in R or Python in support of data science projects.
Ensure the life cycle management of the models is maintained through code repositories and version control tools.
Perform data engineering, data preprocessing and data wrangling activities utilizing different approaches such as SQL, NOSQL, graph models.
Good understanding of Natural Language Processing methodologies.
Establishing an internal and external benchmarking network facilitating the distillation of best data integration and analytics practice from leading organization externally while also identifying best practice from internal teams within J&J.
Mentor and coach junior level staff.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Individual should have a minimum of 7 years with relevant master’s degree in data science, statistics, Informatics, operations research, computer science, engineering or information systems or a related discipline OR
A minimum of 3 years with a Ph.D. degree in data science, statistics, Informatics, operations research, computer science, engineering or information systems is required.
