Department Summary

The Department of Social Work at UNT houses both graduate and undergraduate programs. Our BSW and MSW programs develop generalist social work practitioners who will optimize quality-of-life outcomes in communities worldwide by helping people overcome the challenges associated with abuse, poverty, homelessness, addiction, disability, illness and discrimination. Graduates practice in a variety of areas including integrated healthcare settings, hospice, substance abuse treatment, mental health, child welfare, aging, criminal justice, veterans, military and first responders, and more.

Position Overview

The Department of Social Work seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Assistant Instructor pool to support the social work practicum courses and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. The specific courses available vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses may develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. There is limited opportunity for online teaching.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work.

Preferred Qualifications

Licensure as a social worker at the LMSW or LCSW level. Previous college teaching experience
