Job Description
Provides strong analytical and troubleshooting skills proactively for implementing and supporting clinical technology applications for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta user community. Advocates for user needs and coordinates support requests within Information Systems & Technology. Supports efforts which ensure safe patient care and services by developing and delivering clinically and technically sound solutions for customer technology needs. Acts as liaison between Information Systems & Technology and clinical end user patient care departments, vendors, and other technical experts. Functions as clinical expert for assigned application(s) across support/project teams as pertains to technology. Consults with and advises clinical departments on operational integration of available technology. Functions as subject matter expert on various clinical and technical initiative teams. Provides internal and external training and mentorship.Experience
- Two years of experience in implementing and/or supporting clinical information systems in the role of Clinical Informaticist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta or equivalent experience
- Two years of experience in a clinical setting
- Experience in applying clinical expertise to the implementation/utilization of a clinical information system to redesign/enhance clinical processes to improve efficiency and patient care
- Experience in leading complex projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pediatrics
- Experience in Epic
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in nursing or allied health field
Education
- College graduate with clinical degree
Certification Summary
- State or national license in a clinical field, e.g., Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Medical Technologist (MT), or Dietitian/Nutritionist
- Certification as applicable to position

Job Responsibilities
Functions as business partner with service lines, departments, individuals, and coworkers
- Develops in-depth knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and processes to function effectively as an educator and expert for system users.
- Advises clinical operational users on integration of technical systems with their workflows.
- Creates/modifies/advises/trains workflow improvements regarding system usage and design.
- Establishes and leads regular meetings proactively with department heads and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize their needs.
- Performs rounds with departments to maintain casual interface with individuals and focus on relationship-building.
