Position Overview

The Senior Alliance Manager - East Coast Market establishes and leads cross-functional strategic initiatives and works with the business to follow best practices to ensure their projects meet business objectives and are accomplished on time and within budget.  This role leads complex projects and requires considerable judgement and initiative. The Senior Alliance Manager ensures that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.

The Alliance Manager manages the operational aspects of key external partnerships for the Precision Oncology organization. This position partners with internal team members from Sales, BioPharma, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Bioinformatics, and IT to ensure the business delivers on contractual obligations to external partners in support of the business’ key priorities. The Senior Alliance Manager drives the proper visibility to leaders at all levels of the organization into external partnership initiatives’ risks, benefits, and complexities.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with external partners organizations to ensure delivery of both companies’ objectives to include completion of Precision Oncology’s key priorities to serve more patients.
  • Drive the development, design, and execution of periodic business review meetings with external partners.
  • Accountable to have a strong pulse on the progress against partnership project objectives to identify opportunities for the team to review and adjust progress, at the right frequency and depth and in the right forum.
  • Provide needed visibility and supporting information to assist leadership in prioritizing initiatives to support external partners based on strategic priorities, changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies.
  • Project manage external partnership related projects as required.
  • Act as a project management subject matter expert to directly or indirectly lead cross-functional teams to execute on complex projects including, but not limited to, effective creation and management of timelines, budgets, resources, risks, interdependencies, and project objectives.
  • Understand implications and interdependencies of work and make recommendations for solutions.
  • Communicate and act on opportunities to establish new methods and procedures for projects.
  • Follow established project management practices including, but not limited to, management of scope, requirements, issues, and risks.
  • Consult with project sponsors and stakeholders at all levels to determine goals, time frame, funding, allotment of resources, and procedures for accomplishing projects.
  • Direct and coordinate responsibilities and scope of authority to team members and act as a formal or informal project team leader.
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with coordination, development, or design of projects.
  • Escalate issues when critical risks arise and maintain pulse with project activities to ensure progress.
  • Monitor and prepare status reports on project deliverables and any deviation from project plan.
  • Advise on the right level of governance by project and program.
  • Coach and facilitate teams on project management processes, tools, and techniques including, but not limited to, process maps, value stream maps, and root cause analyses.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities within, and across, multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
