The Oregon Department of Agriculture is seeking an Insect Pest Prevention and Management (IPPM) Program Manager (Compliance & Regulatory Manager 1).
At the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA), the The ODA Insect Pest Prevention and Management Program (IPPM) protects Oregon’s natural resources and agriculture by early detection and rapid response to harmful invasive insects and other invertebrates. Program activities include, but are not limited to, monitoring and eradication programs, bio-control projects, insect identification services and collaboration with state and federal partners.This program is conducted statewide and affects all segments of Oregon's agricultural and horticultural community as well as natural resources in urban, rural, and forested environments. This program is an important component in the agency mission to ensure food safety, protect natural resources, and promote agricultural economic development.
As the IPPM Program Manager (Compliance & Regulatory Manager 1) your responsibilities will include:
Developing work-plans and budgets for the survey of injurious plant insect pests.
Working with the State Plant Regulatory Official on matters of pest quarantines.
Creating and executing plant pest response plans.
Preparing various reports concerning project deliverables and budgetary outcomes.
Coordinating work assignments with other team leads within the program and outside the agency.
Preparing specifications for requisitions and other equipment, parts, and materials needed for operation.
Maintaining operational records; prepares operational performance and other reports.
Managing staff schedules and workflows to accommodate work-plan objectives.
The IPPM Program Manager is a permanent full-time position, located in Wilsonville, Oregon and is a Management Service – Supervisory position and is not represented by a union. A hybrid work schedule may be considered for successful candidates with the expectation of working from the Wilsonville office at least 3 days a week.

This is what you need to qualify
Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience in Entomology, Natural Resource Conservation,
OR
Two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Natural Resource Conservation, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Agriculture or related field.
