Senior Network Telecom Analyst

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Senior Network & Telecom Analyst supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of Richland County’s network infrastructure. This role serves as a technical lead and is cross-trained to cover the duties of the Network & Telecom Operations Manager, Projects Manager, and Network Analyst during absences or vacancies. This is not an entry-level position and requires a minimum of five years’ experience. The ideal candidate will bring extensive, hands-on experience in key technical areas relevant to the Richland County Information Technology (RCIT) Department. The analyst assists with hiring and regularly collaborates with department heads, vendors, and consultants. Travel to County sites using a personal vehicle is required. This position reports to the Network & Telecom Operations Manager.  This job participates in an after-hours on-call rotation.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

• Design, enhance, and support County networking and telecom systems.
• Serve as backup for the Network & Telecom Operations Manager, Projects Manager, and Network Analyst.
• Lead technical efforts and mentor team members.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding new IT team members.
• Collaborate regularly with department heads, vendors, and consultants.
• Travel to County sites using a personal vehicle
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This job participates in an after-hours on-call rotation.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• Must have successfully completed college level course work in related topics, or attended related professional seminars, or have equivalent professional experience.  High school diploma is required.  Must be able to supply written proof of completion for all course work and/or degrees that are being used to satisfy the minimum training requirements. Any combination of education and experience that meets the requirements for performing the essential functions of this job.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

• Security+, Network+ and A+ certifications are preferred.
• Other relevant technology certifications may be considered for compensation purposes.
